Responsive website design and development for teacher recruitment website: Teachers 4
Teachers 4 Ltd is a recruitment agency setup to help teachers find their next ideal roll at a new primary / secondary school. The guys at Teachers 4 came to jonwallacedesign with a requirement to create a website which would help promote the new business, provide the team of recruiters to post new jobs on the website and encourage teachers to sign up to join the agency to get notified of relevant teaching jobs that they might be interested in applying for. The website also needed to appeal to schools who were looking to recruit new teachers and struggling to do so - they could partner with Teachers 4 to get their jobs listed on the Teachers 4 website and a connection to the teachers on the Teachers 4 books.
The website needed to be very simple to use and understand, both from the publicly available areas as well as the teachers members only section. The first stage of the work was to agree the scope of the project and to define how we would go about structuring and laying out the content of the various sections of the website. We wireframed the key pages of content in the new website in a responsive format, illustrating how the key pages would display on both large and small screen devices - ensuring that key content was always easily accessible.
With the information architecture phase complete we moved into the design phase to create an uncomplicated, modern look and feel, mixing some contemporary typography, eye-catching photography and a nice wide open layout with plenty of white space to ensure the website looks professional and established.
The website is built on the MODx framework, providing us with a bespoke CMS tool on which we can tailor build the Teachers 4 website to suit the specific designed layouts and functionality the website required. Using MODx also enables the team of recruiters at Teachers 4 to easily login and add new jobs, manage teachers account data and most importantly, review the database of teachers and filter them by teaching skills / desired working locations to allow the recruiters to match teachers to new teaching jobs.
The members area allows registered teachers to edit their profile, access members only latest news, get tips for writing cvs, get tips to help with interview skills and read some coaching tips as well of course being part of the Teachers 4 database of teachers which opens up access to the range of jobs the Teachers 4 jobs board includes.
We found Jon Wallace to be an excellent web designer. From our initial conversations he very quickly put together a framework around our brief of a recruitment agency. He helped us to think about what other aspects we may need to include within our webpages and helped us to understand how these would fit together. His contract was clear and accurately reflected the brief we'd discussed and our end product, this as well as being competitively priced. He was in very regular contact confirming at different points pages and how they interact with one another. He helped us to source material to make our website more interesting and provided solutions as to how databases could sit alongside our website to make the process work more efficiently.
We were very pleased with the end result. We would happily use him again and would recommend him without any reservation to other companies to use also.
